- A:Rear control arms are utilized on Durango models only. To replace the upper control arm, raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove the control arm fasteners at the axle and at the frame, then remove the upper control arm. For the lower control arm, remove the parking brake cable bracket (left arm only) and the control arm fasteners at the axle and at the frame. Remove the lower control arm. Inspect all rubber bushings for wear and damage, replacing any that are cracked, torn, or deteriorated. To install, reverse the removal process, ensuring all fasteners are tightened to the specified torque values.
