To remove and replace the hub and bearing assembly, start by loosening the driveaxle/hub nut. Then, loosen the wheel lug nuts and raise the rear of the vehicle, supporting it securely on jackstands. Remove the wheel and proceed to remove the brake caliper and disc, as well as the wheel speed sensor from the steering knuckle. Next, remove the hub mounting bolts from the back of the steering knuckle, ensuring that the hub bolts stay in the knuckle to support the brake backing plate. Remove the driveaxle/hub nut and push the driveaxle through the hub splines as the hub and bearing assembly is removed. If the driveaxle sticks in the hub, use a puller to push it out. Take caution not to overextend the inner CV joint and support the outer end of the driveaxle with a length of wire or rope. To install, reverse the removal steps, making sure to tighten the hub mounting bolts, brake caliper mounting bracket bolts, caliper mounting bolts, wheel speed sensor bolt, driveaxle/hub nut, and wheel lug nuts.
