- A:Have the system discharged and the refrigerant recovered by an air conditioning technician. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the bumper cover. On models equipped with a 6-speed automatic transaxle (6F24), remove the bolt retaining the transmission cooler line block to the left of the radiator.
