Q:
How to Remove and Install the Fuel Injector and Fuel Rail on Dodge Neon? Posted by Customer
A:
To relieve system fuel pressure, disconnect the negative battery cable. Then, disconnect the fuel supply line from the fuel rail by squeezing the two tabs on the quick-connect fitting together and pulling up on the fitting. Next, disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors by pushing up on the lock, squeezing the tab, and pulling up. Remove the fuel rail bolts and carefully pull up on the fuel rail to disengage the injectors from their respective bores in the intake manifold. Remove the fuel rail and injectors as a single assembly, being careful not to damage the injectors. Remove the injector retaining clips and then remove the injectors from the fuel rail. Remove the old O-rings from each injector and replace them with new ones, coating them with a little clean fuel before installing them in the fuel rail. Finally, tighten the fuel rail retaining bolts to the specified torque and start the engine to check for leaks at the fuel supply hose fitting and each injector.
