Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to tighten all suspension fasteners. Tighten the wheel lug nuts.

The bushing in the spring link, where it connects to the rear knuckle, has a metal sleeve installed in it. The metal sleeve must be withdrawn from the link before it can be separated from the knuckle. Special tools are required to remove the sleeve from the link's bushing. However, the spring link and knuckle can be removed together and taken to a dealer service department or qualified repair shop for separation. Special tools are also necessary for the link and knuckle to be rejoined with a new metal sleeve installed. The subframe must be lowered one side at a time to remove the spring link and knuckle; a good floor jack, jackstands and wood blocks will be necessary. Loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands placed under the frame rails. Remove the wheel. Remove the ABS wheel speed sensor and unclip the harness from the brake backing plate. Remove the hub and bearing assembly. Remove the rear parking brake shoes and disconnect the parking brake cable from the knuckle. Remove the coil spring. Detach the spring link-to-subframe mounting fasteners.
