Q:
How to remove Fuel Pressure Regulator on 3.3L and 3.8L V6 engine? Posted by Customer
A:
To relieve system fuel pressure, detach the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the DIS coil pack fasteners and swing it out of the way to gain access to the fuel pressure regulator. Disconnect the fuel hose quick-connect fitting from the fuel return tube. Unplug the electrical connector from the coolant temperature sensor. Remove the screw from the fuel rail retainer bracket. Using two flare nut or open end wrenches, loosen the return tube nut and remove the fuel pressure regulator. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring that the fuel return tube nut is securely tightened.

Q:
How to remove Fuel Pressure Regulator on multi-point efi Chrysler Imperial? Posted by Customer
A:
To relieve the system fuel pressure, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. For the 3.0L V6 engine, remove the air intake plenum and then the fuel pressure regulator by removing its fasteners. Inspect the regulator O-ring and replace if damaged. For the 3.3L and 3.8L V6 engines, detach the vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator and remove the regulator retainer screw and retainer. Remove the fuel pressure regulator and inspect the two O-rings in the fuel rail, replacing any damaged ones. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring that the regulator O-ring is lubricated with clean engine oil for the 3.0L engine and that the regulator has two O-rings installed in the cavity for the 3.3L and 3.8L engines.

Q:
How Do You Diagnose a Fuel Pressure Regulator? Posted by Customer
A:
Diagnosis of the fuel pressure regulator involves several steps. First, the air cleaner assembly needs to be removed. Next, the fuel system pressure must be relieved. After that, the negative cable should be disconnected from the battery. Then, the three screws holding the regulator in place should be removed. A cloth should be wrapped around the fuel inlet chamber to catch any residual fuel. The pressure regulator can then be withdrawn from the throttle body, and if it is still attached, it may need to be wiggled to free the hardened rubber seal. The O-ring and gasket should be carefully removed from the regulator. To install the new parts, a new gasket and O-ring should be placed on the pressure regulator. The regulator can then be positioned on the throttle body and secured with the three mounting screws. The negative battery cable should be reconnected, and a thorough check for fuel leaks should be conducted. Finally, the air cleaner assembly can be installed.
