Q: Where is the High and Low Pressure Cycling Switch Located?
A: The high pressure cycling switch is located in the air conditioning compressor on all models. The low pressure cycling switch is located in the expansion valve on 2000 through 2002 models or on the accumulator on 2003 models. To replace the pressure cycling switch, first have the refrigerant discharged by an air conditioning technician. Then, unplug the electrical connector from the switch and unscrew the old switch. Before installing the new switch, lubricate the O-ring with clean refrigerant oil. Screw the new switch onto the threads until hand tight, and then tighten it securely. Reconnect the electrical connector. Finally, have the system evacuated, charged, and leak tested by the shop that discharged it.
