- Q:How do you assemble the motor for the 1989 Dodge Ramcharger? Posted by Customer
- A:Install the brushes in their respective slots and retain them by locking the brush lead wires into the notches at the rear of the slots. Clean the commutator using an ink eraser, then install the flat spring, and flat washers on the armature shaft. Install the armature in the bearing while rotating it counter-clockwise to mate the shaft gear with the intermediate gear. Release all the brush wires from the notches and make sure that the springs are exerting tension on them. Align the window in the motor housing with the brush holder and install it quickly over the armature so the magnets in the motor housing don't pull the armature out of the brush housing.
