On four-cylinder engines, begin by removing the air cleaner assembly. Rotate the throttle valve cam to the full throttle position and disconnect the accelerator cable from the slot in the throttle valve cam, ensuring to detach it from the throttle lever at the
Throttle Body. Next, compress the cable retaining tabs and push the accelerator cable out of the bracket. For V6 engines, compress the cable retaining tab and slide the cable out of the side of the bracket. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the bracket on the firewall. Inside the vehicle, at the accelerator pedal arm, use pliers to compress the cable retain clips and push the cable retainer out of the accelerator pedal arm, then slide the cable out of the slot in the pedal arm and remove it from inside the engine compartment. Finally, push the cable through the firewall into the engine compartment and remove it from the vehicle. Installation is the reverse of removal.
