Chrysler Cirrus Washer Pump

The Chrysler Cirrus Washer Pump is responsible for delivering pressurized washer fluid from the reservoir to the nozzles, allowing the driver to have a clear view of the road ahead. The small electrical Washer Pump is mounted adjacent to the washer fluid reservoir. It is energized by the steering column switch when it is turned. The motor inside the Washer Pump spins and sends washer fluid to the spray nozzles through tiny hoses. Every Chrysler model in the Cirrus line has relied on a single electric Washer Pump design, so owners can benefit from the same parts layout through the years. The Washer Pump has no complicated hydraulics, nor are there any belt drives. Instead, it relies on a simple sealed motor and impeller that does not leak. Moreover, it can simply be replaced if it stops working effectively. Through the years, Cirrus owners have liked how Chrysler made everything easy to reach. The differences between early and later Cirrus units relate to a few different connector shapes rather than how the Washer Pump moves fluid, which remains the same due to Chrysler heritage and the brand's commitment to clear glass.

Chrysler Cirrus Washer Pump Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How do you remove and install Washer Pump on Chrysler Cirrus?
    A:
Before attempting to take out the washer reservoir, one is required to pump remaining fluid in the reservoir if any into a suitable receptacle container. Then remove the washer fluid hose by pulling free the washer fluid hose from the inline connector that sits atop the right shock tower. Next, then rapidly disconnect the front bumper assembly and the EVAP carbon canister. Remove the electrical connector that is fixed at the washer pump and separate the washer hose from the reservoir. Subsequently, unscrew the mounting bolts, and in the process of moving the new reservoir along with the pump still mounted on it, one is notified that the windshield washer pump resides in the reservoir. To uninstall the washer pump squeeze its base and with the twisting motion to take it out of the reservoir grommet. To reinstall, reverse the above sequence and if the pump was removed put in a new grommet in its place.
