To begin, remove the throttle body/air intake plenum cover, which is secured by three rubber grommets on positioning pins; simply pull it straight up to detach. Next, rotate the throttle lever to the wide-open position and disengage the accelerator cable from the throttle lever cam by pulling it forward to create slack, then disconnect the cable end plug from its slot. Use a small screwdriver to pry the retaining tab away from the cable bracket, allowing you to slide the cable out. Then, pop open the cable clamp with the screwdriver and disengage the cable, noting its routing. Inside the vehicle, reach behind the accelerator pedal to push the retainer toward the rear, pop the cable retainer from the slot, and disconnect the accelerator cable from the top of the pedal assembly. Remove the horseshoe-shaped clip that holds the cable grommet in the firewall by sliding it straight up, then pop the grommet out and push the cable through the hole. Finally, installation follows the reverse order of removal.
