A: If replacement is needed due to fluid leakage, it is recommended to replace the calipers rather than overhauling them. New or factory rebuilt units can be obtained on an exchange basis. It is important to always replace the calipers in pairs and not just one of them. For vehicles equipped with the optional performance brake system, calipers with the "Turbo" mark should be used when ordering replacement pads or parts. To remove the caliper, loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands, and remove the wheel. Disconnect the brake hose from the caliper by removing the banjo bolt and plug the brake hose to prevent contamination. Remove the caliper guide pin bolts. To install the caliper, reverse the removal procedure and replace the sealing washers at the brake hose-to-caliper connection. Tighten the caliper guide pin bolts to the specified torque. If the brake hose was disconnected, bleed the brake circuit according to the procedure. Test the brakes carefully before returning the vehicle to normal service.
