To remove the antenna mast, unscrew it from the mounting base using an open-end wrench, and installation is the reverse of removal. There are two antenna cables: the antenna mast cable connects the antenna mast to the instrument panel antenna cable located underneath the right end of the instrument panel, which then connects to the radio. To access the antenna mast cable, carefully pry off the right-side panel, disconnect the coaxial connector from the instrument panel antenna cable, loosen the right front wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle securely on jackstands, and remove the right front wheel. Next, remove the splash shield from the right front wheel housing, detach the antenna mast cable clip using needle-nose pliers, and unscrew the cap nut from the antenna mounting base with an antenna wrench. Remove the antenna mounting base adapter from the top of the fender, push the antenna mounting base down through the mounting hole in the fender, and remove the grommet before pulling out the antenna cable. Installation follows the reverse order. For the instrument panel antenna cable, disconnect it from the antenna mast cable, remove the glove box, and disengage the old cable from the clips on the heater box. Remove the radio and disconnect the instrument panel antenna cable from the backside of the radio, then pull the old cable out through the radio mounting hole, with installation being the reverse of removal.
