To check the brake booster, start the engine, depress the pedal, and ensure the pedal reserve distance doesn't change. For air tightness, start and stop the engine, depress the pedal several times, and observe if the pedal rises after the second or third depression. If there's no change in pedal reserve travel after 30 seconds, the booster is airtight. To remove the brake booster, remove the master cylinder, disconnect the vacuum hose, move any steel
Brake Lines and the ABS hydraulic control unit, and remove the steering column lower cover, brake push rod clip, and
Brake Light Switch. Remove the four nuts holding the booster and slide it out. Installation is the reverse of removal.
