For models from 1987 through 1995, begin by releasing the hood hold-down, detaching the side marker lamp, and disconnecting the radio antenna. Next, remove the bolts from the front edge of the fender, followed by the rear support and fender-to-body bolts, and detach the fender from the vehicle, with installation being the reverse of removal. For later models, start with the front fender flare by removing the side marker lamp and the flare-to-fender retaining screws, then detach the flare from the front fender, ensuring the surface between the fender and flare is clean before reattaching. For 1997 through 2006 models on the left side, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, remove the cowl grille panel, windshield washer reservoir, horns, and EVAP canister. Unbolt the Anti-lock Brake System hydraulic control unit without disconnecting the hydraulic lines, support it with wire, and remove the support tray. Detach the forward wiring harness clips and headlight connector, thread the wire harness for fog lamps and lights through the access hole, and remove the fender flare and body side molding if equipped. Remove the necessary bolts and installation is the reverse of removal. For the right side, remove the battery, air cleaner housing, and bolts attaching the Power Distribution Center to the fender, then detach the PDC wire harness clips and support the PDC. Detach the air conditioning high-pressure line retainer, forward wiring harness clips, and battery tray, disconnect the battery temperature sensor connector, and vacuum line from the reservoir. Thread the wire harness for fog lamps and lights, remove the fender flare and body side molding if equipped, and remove the necessary bolts with installation being the reverse. For 2007 and later models, disconnect the negative battery terminal, remove the cowl top panel, front fender flares, and splash shield fasteners, detach the ABS sensor wire harness, and remove the bracket retaining the windshield frame and fender. Remove the upper and lower fender bolts, and working in the fender well, remove the front fender bolt and the fender, also removing the antenna from the appropriate side. Installation is the reverse of removal, ensuring to install the fender retaining bolts loosely at first for proper alignment before tightening securely.
