- Q: How to remove and install a windshield wiper motor on Ram 3500?A:Disconnect the cable(s) from the negative battery terminal(s). Make sure that the wipers are in the Park position. Mark the positions of the wiper blades on the windshield using tape or a marker. Pivot each wiper arm to lock it in its Up position, then remove the plastic nut cap. Lift the plastic caps to expose the wiper arm mounting nuts. Remove the arm retaining nut. Rock the wiper arm up and down to break it free from the shaft then lift off the arm. Remove the cowl cover. Disconnect the electrical connector from the windshield wiper motor. Disconnect the wiring from the wiper motor. Remove the nut and separate the motor's arm from its output shaft. Remove this nut to detach the motor from the linkage, mark the position of the arm to the shaft, then remove the motor mounting screws. Note: Leave the arm and the linkage mechanism in the cowl. Remove the windshield wiper motor mounting screws. then maneuver it from under the linkage bracket and out of the cowl. Installation is the reverse of removal.
