Begin by securely supporting the vehicle on jackstands. Spin each wheel to check for noise, rolling resistance, and freeplay. Additionally, grasp the top and bottom of each tire and move the wheel in and out on the spindle to detect any noticeable movement, which may indicate bearing issues.

After raising the vehicle, remove the driveaxle hub nut and washer. Push the driveaxle in until it's free of the hub, which may require tapping with a brass drift punch and hammer. Remove the cotter pin and nut, and use a puller to disconnect the tie-rod end from the steering knuckle. Secure the tie-rod aside with wire. Then, disconnect the brake hose bracket from the strut, remove the caliper and brake pads, and detach the caliper mounting bracket from the steering knuckle. Hang the caliper out of the way with wire.
