    Q:
How are the electrical circuits of safeguarded and what should be done in the event of a blown fuse on Chrysler Imperial? Posted by Customer
    A:
The electrical circuits of the vehicle have some protection from fuses, circuit breakers, and fusible links, of which the fuse block can be found under the instrument panel on the left-side of the dashboard. The later models also have the power distribution center in the engine bay which is simply the fuses and relays. The above fuse is designed to protect various circuits and these are usually specified on the fuse panel. Compact fuses with a blade terminal design allow the user to easily twist with the fingertips to pop out the fuse and insert a new one. In cases when an electrical component stopped working, one need to check the fuse as it can give an instant result being a transparent plastic case with the element visible for inspection. In a case more continuity test is required it can be checked up through the exposed parts of the blade terminals in the fuse body. When fuses are being replaced, it is recommended that only the correct type be used as fuses of different rating appear physically similar though only those with the correct rating guarantee enough protection for a given electrical circuit. The amperage value is made to stand out against the plastic of the fuse body. If the fuse blows and a new one is put in place and it blows as soon as it is energized, it should NOT be replaced again until the problem leading to the use of a new fuse has been ascertained as being as a result of a short circuit due to badly connected or old wiring.

    Q:
What should be done when a Fuse or electrical component fails for the 1992 Jeep Wrangler? Posted by Customer
    A:
When an electrical component fails, it is advisable to check the fuse first, using a test light to verify power at the exposed terminal tips. If power is present on one side but not the other, the fuse is blown, which can also be confirmed visually as the element between the terminals melts.
