Chrysler 5151017AC Steering Power Steering Pump

After preparing the power steering pump, the following steps should be taken. Loosening the right front wheel lug nuts. Raising the vehicle and securely supporting it on jackstands. Removing the right front wheel. Removing the drivebelt. Removing the driveaxle/hub nut while an assistant depresses the brake pedal.

The power steering pump for the 2.7L engine is removed by detaching the tie-rod end from the steering knuckle, removing the balljoint nut, and separating the balljoint from the knuckle using tool 9360 or an equivalent tool. The knuckle is then lifted out of the control arm, and the driveaxle is pulled out of the knuckle. Afterward, the power steering pressure line is disconnected from the pump, and the pump mounting bracket bolt is removed. The other two pump bracket bolts are removed, and the pump and bracket are removed from the engine by rotating the pump so the pulley faces the engine. The pump will come out through the gap made when the half shaft was removed.
