    Q:
How to Remove and Install a Fuel Level Sensor, Fuel Pressure Regulator, and Fuel Pump Assembly on a Chrysler 200? Posted by Customer
    A:
All wheel drive (AWD) models have a saddle fuel tank configuration and have main and auxiliary fuel pumps. Each fuel pump has a sending unit. The auxiliary fuel pump contains the fuel pump reservoir, fuel pressure regulator and fuel filter. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the remote ground terminal or battery. Remove the rear seat cushion and fuel pump module cover. On AWD models, remove main and auxiliary fuel pump module covers. Disconnect the fuel delivery line quick-connect fitting and on 2015 and later models, also disconnect the fuel vapor line from the fuel pump/fuel pressure regulator/Fuel Level Sensor assembly. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump/fuel pressure regulator/Fuel Level Sensor assembly. Before removing the fuel pump/fuel pressure regulator/Fuel Level Sensor assembly, make alignment marks on the assembly and the fuel tank (if marks don't already exist), to ensure the assembly will be correctly realigned when it's installed again. Using adjustable-joint pliers, loosen the lock ring that secures the fuel pump/fuel pressure regulator/Fuel Level Sensor assembly. Carefully lift the fuel pump/fuel pressure regulator/Fuel Level Sensor assembly from the fuel tank. Angle the module so that you don't bend the float arm of the Fuel Level Sensor or damage the fuel pump inlet strainer. If you're removing the auxiliary pump on an AWD model, raise the fuel pump module and disconnect the internal fuel line. While the pump is removed, inspect the pump inlet strainer. Make sure that it's not clogged or damaged. If the inlet strainer is dirty, try washing it in clean solvent. If it's still clogged, replace it. Installation is the reverse of removal. Line up the marks, and tighten the fuel pump module lock ring securely.

    Q:
How to Replace the Fuel Pressure Regulator on Chrysler Town & Country? Posted by Customer
    A:
The following procedure is only applicable to earlier style fuel pump/pressure regulator/sending unit assemblies with a removable fuel pressure regulator. Before attempting to remove the regulator, verify with a dealership parts department that the regulator is removable. If it is, follow the procedure below to replace the regulator. If it is not removable, the fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator must be replaced as a single assembly. The fuel pump/regulator assembly can be purchased without a new fuel level sending unit, allowing for the swapping of the old sending unit to the new assembly. Alternatively, the whole assembly, including a sending unit, can be purchased. To replace the regulator, first relieve the system fuel pressure and disconnect the negative battery terminal cable. Remove the fuel tank and then the fuel pump/regulator/sending unit assembly. Carefully pry the pressure regulator out of the assembly by spreading the retaining tabs apart. If replacing the regulator, use new O-rings during installation. If reusing the old regulator, replace the upper and lower O-rings with new ones. Do not install a new or used regulator with old O-rings. Coat the new O-rings with clean gasoline during installation. The installation process is the reverse of removal.

    Q:
How to Remove and Install a Fuel Level Sensor, Fuel Pressure Regulator, and Fuel Pump Assembly on a Chrysler Sebring? Posted by Customer
    A:
AWD configurations of 2014 and former models contain a saddle fuel tank that uses main and auxiliary fuel pumps along with their dedicated sending units. First step should be to release pressure from the fuel system. Move on to disconnect the negative battery cable from its mounting location on the remote ground terminal or battery. First remove the rear seat cushion followed by the removal of fuel pump module cover while extra attention needs to be focused on main and auxiliary fuel pump module covers during removal on AWD models. The repair procedure begins by disconnecting the fuel delivery line quick-connect fitting from all components comprising the fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator and Fuel Level Sensor. This step concludes with disconnecting the assembly electrical connector. The assembly requires alignment marks between itself and the fuel tank prior to extraction for proper future installation. Adjustable-joint pliers help you loosen the lock ring fixing the assembly before you lift it from the fuel tank while steering it in a position which prevents the float arm from bending and protects the fuel pump inlet strainer from damage. Raising the fuel pump module and disconnecting the internal fuel line becomes necessary during auxiliary pump removal in AWD models. The removal period allows opportunity for an inspection of the pump inlet strainer and its subsequent cleaning with solvent until replacement becomes necessary. Reinstall the fuel pump module according to its removal steps while keeping the marks correctly aligned before locking it tightly with the ring.
