    How to remove and install a Door Handle, Door Latch Assembly, and Door Lock Cylinder on a Dodge Neon? Posted by Customer

    Remove the door trim panel and watershield, then close the window completely. Disconnect the link rods from the latch. For power door lock models, disconnect the electrical connector from the door lock motor. Remove the three mounting screws from the end of the door, using an impact-type screwdriver if necessary, and a Torx-head driver for the door latch screws. Detach the clips from the control rods and remove the latch from the door by unsnapping the clip from the rod and pulling the rod out of the lever. Place the latch in position, install the screws, and tighten them securely. Connect the link rods to the latch. Disconnect the link and electrical connector, remove the lock cylinder clip retainer, and withdraw the lock cylinder from the door handle assembly by pushing off the clip at its base. Installation is the reverse of removal. Disconnect the link, remove the mounting bolts, and detach the handle from the door, which is retained by two bolts. Place the handle in position, attach the links, and install the bolts, tightening them securely.

    Remove the outside door handle, disconnect the link, and use a screwdriver to push the key lock cylinder retainer off to withdraw the lock cylinder from the door. Installation is the reverse of removal.

    To remove the lock cylinder from the door, disconnect the link from the lock cylinder. Use pliers to slide the retaining clip off, and then remove the lock cylinder from the door.
