To replace the front brake pads, follow these steps, wash off brake dust with brake system cleaner. Insert a screwdriver through the caliper window to pry the caliper outward, being cautious not to overflow the master cylinder reservoir. Remove the two caliper mounting bolts. Hang the caliper from the control arm with wire. Remove the brake pads from the caliper adapter, inspect and lubricate both pins, replace them if damaged or corroded, and replace cracked or torn rubber dust boots. Coat the pins with high-temperature grease and install them in the caliper adapter. Depress the piston fully into the caliper before installing the new brake pads to ease pad installation. Install both new front pads, the caliper, and caliper bolts, then tighten to torque specifications.

To prepare for brake pad replacement on both front and rear disc brakes, begin by removing the cap from the brake fluid reservoir and loosening the wheel lug nuts. Then, raise the front of the vehicle securely on jack stands and remove the front or rear wheels, working on one brake assembly at a time while using the assembled brake for reference if needed.

As the piston is depressed, the fluid in the master cylinder will rise, so ensure it doesn't overflow and siphon off some fluid if necessary.
