    How to remove and install a steering wheel on Jeep Cherokee? Posted by Customer

    Disconnect the battery's negative cable. Remove the horn pad from the steering wheel and disconnect the horn switch wires. Remove the steering wheel retaining nut and mark the steering shaft's relationship to the hub. Use a puller to remove the steering wheel. To reinstall, align the marks on the wheel hub and shaft, and install the wheel. Tighten the nut to the specified torque. Reconnect the horn wire and install the horn pad. Reconnect the battery cable. For 1995 or 1996 models, roll down the driver's window and disconnect the battery. Wait two minutes, remove the steering wheel hub cover, and disarm the airbag. Remove the airbag module fasteners, lift the module, and unplug the connectors. To reinstall, position the airbag module, plug in connectors, and install the module. Tighten the fasteners and reconnect the battery.
