    Q:
How to properly install and maintain the Sway Bar Bushing and Sway Bar Kit on Jeep Wrangler? Posted by Customer
    A:
Parking brake is then engaged followed by placing jackstands under the front part of the car. From models made between 1987 and 1995, take out the cotter pins on the bolts holding the Sway Bar Kit to link, then 'unscrew' the nuts to free the bar ends from the links. If the bolts are too tight, then, the lower ends of the links have to be disconnected with the aid of the leaf spring tie plates. Subsequently, unbolt the bar's stabilizer bracket and take out the bar in order to dissect the rubber coupling bushings with possible need for replacement. Place the new bushings on the bar, bring the brackets into position and lift the bar to the frame, insert the bracket bolts but do not over tighten it. If the Sway Bar Kit-to-link nuts are weak then replace them with new nuts, washers, spacers, and rubber bushings, and tighten the nuts and add new cotter pins. If the lower ends of the links were removed, the narrows should be placed back and the nuts tightened. Last but not the least, the bracket bolt tight should be done securely. For models from 1997 and later, take off all the nuts that connect the bar to the link to sever the bar from the axle, and may also remove the links from the related brackets of the axle. In case the bar should be removed, then it is done by the removal of retaining bolts of the Sway Bar bushing clamps, besides which, the rubber bushings used should be checked for signs of wear and if found torn they should be replaced. Place the new bushings on the bar, put the brackets over them and lift the bar to the frame and put the bracket bolts but do not over tighten them. To the specification, put on the Sway Bar Kit-to-link nuts, washers, spacers and rubber bushings and tightened the nuts in adequate torque and tied the bracket bolts at the same torque. On the 2007 and the models thereafter, the Sway Bar system is an extraordinary off-road feature that adjusts wheel travel with reference to the speed of the vehicle and input from the operator. Below the speed of 15 mph the systems activate and above the said speed, the systems revert to a normal mode. Because of the integrated design, there are no special diagnostic or striping techniques, however, simple tests such as checking fuses or connections can be done.
