Mopar 52109653AD Accelerator Cable

The 3.7L V6 and 4.7L V8 engines from 2010 and earlier models utilize a conventional accelerator cable, while Hemi and 3.6L engines feature an electronically controlled throttle plate managed by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) based on signals from the Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) integrated into the accelerator pedal. To begin, remove the air intake duct and, if present, the air resonator box. Next, rotate the throttle lever to the wide-open position and detach the cable end by sliding the cable end plug out of its socket. Use a small screwdriver to press the tab and release the accelerator cable retainer from the cable bracket, then slide the cable out. Trace the cable to the firewall, detaching it from any clamps, clips, or brackets. Under the dash, disconnect the cable from the accelerator pedal by pushing the upper end of the pedal forward and threading the cable through the slot. Remove the retaining clip that secures the cable housing to the firewall, then pull the cable through the firewall into the engine compartment. Installation follows the reverse order of removal.
