For the replacement of the latch, it is first necessary to mark around the latch to help re-install it, then un-bolt the latch from the radiator support and take out the latch. Pull the hood release cable back and take it out of the slot present on the back of the latch assembly. For installation remove the whole process in the reverse order, and set the latch in a way that hood engages shut when closed and the bumpers should be slightly squeezed. To remove the cable, one has to first release the hood latch before disconnecting the cable from it. Lie the new cable behind the existing one and then join a length of wire at the end of the cabled at engine bay to aid in pulling the new cable back to the engine bay. Disconnect the cable from all the retaining clips in the engine compartment if possible trim some of the clips. Under the Instrument panel, unscrew the hood release handle, take out the grommet to free the cable and pass through the firewall and into the cab. Pull the wire out of the old cable and connect it to the new cable by making sure the new cable come with a grommet. Route the new cable through the firewall and into the engine compartment and install the grommet. To complete the installation reverse all the steps taken to remove the program.
