For 2007 models, shift the range lever to 4L, while for 2008 and later models, shift it to Neutral (N). Lower the vehicle, remove the center console, and disconnect the shift cable from the range lever assembly. Detach the cable grommet from the floor of the vehicle and pull the cable through the opening to remove it. Installation is the reverse of removal; for 2007 models, ensure the range lever and transfer case are in 4L position before connecting the cable, and for 2008 and later models, ensure they are in Neutral (N) position before connecting the cable.
