To remove a catalytic converter, follow these steps, loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and support it securely on jackstands.Spray penetrant onto the threads of various bolts and clamps.Disconnect electrical connectors for oxygen sensors and remove the sensors.Unscrew the upper exhaust pipe-to-exhaust manifold flange bolts.Loosen the clamp securing the slip joint between crossover pipe sections.If applicable, loosen the clamp securing the slip joint between the right exhaust pipe and the pre-muffler.Remove the catalytic converter assembly, including the old flange gasket.Installation is the reverse of removal, using new flange gaskets, bolts, and clamps as needed.Apply anti-seize compound to threads for future removal.Tighten all fasteners securely.
