    Q:
How to Replace an A/C Condenser on Chrysler Sebring? Posted by Customer
    A:
When replacing entire components, additional refrigerant oil must be added equal to the amount that is removed with the component being replaced. Read the label on the oil container to verify compatibility with the R-134a or R-1234yf system before adding any. If the condenser is being replaced due to damage, the receiver-drier should also be replaced. To remove the condenser, discharge and recover the refrigerant, disconnect the negative battery cable, remove the radiator support brace, and tilt the radiator rearward. Remove the nut retaining the air conditioning lines, disconnect the refrigerant lines, and plug all open fittings. On 2008 and later models, remove the air conditioning condenser connecting line-to-radiator mounting bolts and the connecting line. Remove the mounting bolts securing the lower condenser bracket to the radiator and disconnect the automatic transaxle cooler lines. Carefully pull up to release the condenser from the lower clips and remove it from the vehicle. To install the new condenser, fully seat it into the mounting clips and retainers. Install new O-rings onto the line fittings and lightly coat them with refrigerant oil. If using a new condenser, add 0.7-ounce (20 ml) of refrigerant oil. Finally, have the system evacuated, recharged, and leak tested by a professional.

    Q:
How to Replace an A/C Condenser on Dodge Avenger? Posted by Customer
    A:
When updating older AC systems from 2008 to 2014, we must add the same amount of refrigerant oil as what's removed while replacing parts. This helps keep everything working well in the R-134a and R-1234yf systems. When you fix the condenser because of damage, you must change the receiver-drier as well. Before starting work, hire an air conditioning professional to discharge and collect the refrigerant from the system. Remove the negative battery cable from its hold on the remote ground terminal or the battery itself. Loosen the brace holding the radiator, pull it back so you can reach it. After unplugging and removing the retaining nut, disconnect the air conditioning lines from the left engine block side near the condenser. Bolt everything properly and use caps to seal all open line connections to avoid dirt and moisture entry. When replacing the air conditioning condenser, remove first and replace all bolts that connect the connecting line to both the condenser and radiator. At that time, remember to put in a new O-ring. Take out the bolts holding the lower condenser bracket to the radiator. Also cut the automatic transaxle cooler hoses loose from the left side of the condenser. Gently lift directly upward to free the condenser from its lower holdfasts before taking it off the car. Put the condenser back the way you took it off: push it down hard into its clamping points and holders. Put fresh A/C system O-rings in place, lubricate them with small drops from a refrigerant oil bottle. You need to put 0.7 ounce (20 milliliters) of refrigerant oil into a fresh condenser when you reinstall it. Have the place that took pressure out of the system now test it for leaks, fill it back up with refrigerant, and make sure everything works correctly.

How to Replace the A/C Condenser on a Ford Focus on Jeep Compass? Posted by Customer
    A:
When replacing entire components, additional refrigerant oil must be added equal to the amount that is removed with the component being replaced. Read the label on the oil container to verify that it is compatible with the R-134a system before adding any of it to the system. Note: if the condenser is being replaced because of damage (cracked or punctured), the receiver-drier should also be replaced. Removal: Have the system discharged and the refrigerant recovered by an air conditioning technician. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery. Remove the bumper cover. On models equipped with a 6-speed automatic transaxle (6F24), remove the bolt retaining the transmission cooler line block to the left of the radiator. Also on models equipped with a 6-speed automatic transaxle (6F24), disconnect the transmission cooler lines from the condenser. Remove the retaining bolts and disconnect the refrigerant lines. Plug all open fittings to prevent entry of dirt and moisture. Remove the condenser upper mounting brackets. Remove the condenser lower mounting bolts. Carefully pull straight up to release the condenser from the lower clips, then remove the condenser from the vehicle. Installation: If you are replacing the condenser with a new unit, add 0.3-ounce (10 ml) of refrigerant oil to the replacement. Installation is the reverse of removal. Make certain to fully seat the condenser into the mounting clips and retainers. Install new O-rings onto the line fittings and lightly coat them with the proper refrigerant oil. Have the system evacuated, recharged and leak tested by the shop that discharged.
