How to Replace a Fuel Injector on Dodge Daytona? Posted by Customer
    A:
Remove the air cleaner assembly. Release the fuel system pressure. Disconnect the negative cable at the battery. Place the cable out of the way so it cannot accidentally come in contact with the negative terminal of the battery, as this would once again allow power into the electrical system of the vehicle. Remove the four screws retaining the fuel inlet chamber to the throttle body. Remove the fuel pressure regulator-to-throttle body vacuum tube. Wrap a cloth around the fuel inlet chamber to catch the residual fuel and lift the inlet chamber and injector off the throttle body. Withdraw the injector from the inlet chamber. Peel the upper and lower O-rings from the fuel injector. Remove the snap-ring retaining the seal and washer on the injector, followed by the seal and washer. Remove the bolt retaining the injector cap and lift the cap off the injector using two screwdrivers inserted in the slots provided for this purpose. Pry the injector from the pod using a screwdriver inserted in the holes in the side of the electrical connector. After removal, make sure the lower injector O-ring is removed from the pod. Install a new O-ring, washer, and seal on the injector, retaining them with the snap-ring. Insert the injector into the fuel inlet chamber. Place the injector/fuel inlet chamber in position on the throttle body and install the pressure regulator-to-throttle body vacuum tube. Place the assembly into the throttle body and install the retaining screws. Tighten the screws to the specified torque. Install new O-rings on the injector and injector cap. Place the injector in the pod and position the injector so the cap can be installed without interference. Rotate the cap and injector so they line up with the attachment hold, push down to ensure a good seal, and install the retaining screws. Tighten the screws to the specified torque. Connect the negative battery cable, start the engine, and check for leaks. Turn off the engine and install the air cleaner assembly.

    Q:
How to Remove and Install the Fuel rail and Fuel Injector on Dodge Daytona? Posted by Customer
    A:
To remove the fuel system, start by releasing the fuel system pressure. Then, disconnect the negative cable at the battery and loosen the supply hose clamp at the fuel rail inlet. Remove the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose, bracket bolts, and hose. Next, remove the fuel rail-to-camshaft cover bracket bolt and unplug the fuel injector wiring connector. Use a small screwdriver to remove the fuel injector heat shield clips. Remove the four fuel rail attaching bolts and carefully pull the injectors straight out of the ports. Support the fuel rail and disconnect the remaining fuel hoses. To install the fuel system, ensure the injectors are securely seated and the injector holes are clean. Lubricate the injector O-rings and insert the injector assemblies into their holes. Install the bolts and ground straps, tightening them evenly in a criss-cross pattern. Connect the injector wiring harness and install the heat shield clips. Install the fuel rail-to-valve cover bracket bolt and connect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose. Install the fuel supply hose and clamp securely. Check that all ground straps, hoses, wiring harnesses, and connectors are securely installed. Finally, connect the negative battery cable.

    Q:
How can you check if all the Fuel Injectors are operating properly for the 1988 Dodge Grand Caravan? Posted by Customer
    A:
With the engine running or cranking, listen to the sound from each injector with an automotive stethoscope and verify the injectors are all clicking the same. If you don't have a stethoscope, place the tip of as crew driver against the injectors and press your ear against the handle of the screwdriver. Also feel the operation of each injector with your finger. It should sound/feel smooth and uniform and its sound/feel should rise and fall with engine RPM. If an injector isn't operating, or sounds/feels erratic check the injector connector and the wire electrical connector. If the connectors are snug, check for voltage to the injector, using a special injector harness test light (available at our website).
