    Q:
How to begin the process for removing the instrument cluster on Jeep Wrangler? Posted by Customer
    A:
To begin the process for models from 1987 through 1995, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal, then remove the instrument cluster bezel. For 1991 and earlier models, detach the indicator bezel by removing the retaining screws. Next, remove the cluster and switch panel screws, pulling the cluster out far enough to access the electrical and speedometer connectors; on some models, it may be necessary to disconnect the speedometer cable at the transmission or cruise control adapter for sufficient slack. Unplug the connectors, detach the speedometer cable on later models, and remove the cluster, with installation being the reverse of removal. For models from 1997 through 2006, start by disconnecting the negative battery terminal, then remove the headlight switch knob and shaft. Remove the screws retaining the cover for the steering column opening and pull the cover straight back, disengaging the hooks. Pry up the instrument panel top cover using a suitable tool, then remove the screws attaching the cluster to the instrument panel and pull off the cluster bezel. Remove the screws attaching the instrument cluster, pull it back, and disconnect the electrical connectors, with installation being the reverse of removal. For models from 2007 through 2010, disconnect the negative battery terminal, then use a plastic trim tool to detach the lower steering column opening cover and the cover directly below the steering column. Remove the bolts and detach the knee bolster reinforcement plate, then remove the screws from the instrument cluster bezel and the cluster itself, disconnecting the electrical connectors before removal, with installation being the reverse of removal. For models from 2011 and later, disconnect the negative battery terminal, remove the left HVAC register by rotating it and prying the retaining tab, then do the same for the center bezel registers. Remove the trim panel below the steering column, push out the power window switch if equipped, or pry out the storage bin. Remove the upper storage tray mat and the screw underneath, then remove the screws from the instrument cluster bezel below the steering column. Carefully pull the center lower part of the bezel from the instrument panel, free the remaining clips, and detach the bezel. Unscrew the instrument cluster screws, pull it from the instrument panel, disconnect the electrical connectors, and remove the cluster, with installation being the reverse of removal.

    Q:
How to Remove the Instrument Cluster on Jeep Wrangler? Posted by Customer
    A:
On models prior to 1995, begin with disconnecting the negative battery cable, then, taking out screws situated at the instrument panel, jerk out the individual panels at the top to come off the dash, while the process of installation is just the reverse of the mentioned process. For the models from 1997 to 2010, it is difficult to accomplish this procedure because of the concealed fasteners and electrical connectors; Pop the nut on the negative terminal of the battery, raise the tilt steering Wheeler if installed, and take out the headlight switch knob and coverscrews. Pull the cover of the steering column back, unscrew the knee blocker screws, and turn the key to 'On'. On the 2006 and earlier models, it is necessary to take out the lock cylinder using a pin punch; after that, it is possible to separate the covers of the steering column and disconnect the electrical connectors. It is, therefore, recommended that the steering wheel is unbolted and disposed to avoid spoiling the airbag, and the seat position fixed using cable ties. Disconnect the heater control cable, then take off the pinch bolt and nuts of the steering column mounts. Lift the glove box upward and pull it with its hooks, then separate it, then disconnect the air bag module bracket nuts and take off the instrument panel top cover. On the 2007 models, remove or unplug the antenna lead, and electrical connectors on the HVAC or you can take the screws out of the instrument panel. In the case with the 2011 and later models pay attention to the process of removing the air outlets and the main trim panel INSTALLING THE STEERING WHEEL and disconnecting diverse wires and components. Lastly, do not forget to label all connections, and before doing this, disconnect all connections, and to remove the instrument panel, reverse the steps involved, and also ensure the use of torque wrench whenever tightening or loosening any fasteners.

Good afternoon, I have a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I just bought it a few weeks ago, and just noticed it has a crack going north and south on the instrument gauge cluster. Does this part replace just the clear plastic front cover to the cluster or am I missing something? Posted by Customer: 2015 Jeep Wrangler
    A:
THE PART SELECTED IS JUST THE PLASTIC COVER.
