Mopar 4883385 Exhaust Manifold

Remove the intake manifold. On 1984 through 1990 models, disconnect the EGR tube. Remove the two nuts and bolts that secure the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold. It may be necessary to apply penetrating oil to the threads. Unplug the oxygen sensor wire connector, if necessary. Remove the mounting nuts and spacers and detach the exhaust manifold from the engine. Clean the mating surfaces and, if the manifold is being replaced, transfer the oxygen sensor to the new manifold. Reinstall the exhaust manifold and finger tighten the nuts on the end studs. Reinstall the intake manifold and tighten all mounting fastener to the specified torque, following the sequence. Reinstall the remaining components in the reverse order of removal. Run the engine and check for exhaust leaks.
