To replace the front brake pads, follow these steps, wash off brake dust with brake system cleaner. Insert a screwdriver through the caliper window to pry the caliper outward, being cautious not to overflow the master cylinder reservoir. Remove the two caliper mounting bolts. Hang the caliper from the control arm with wire. Remove the brake pads from the caliper adapter, inspect and lubricate both pins, replace them if damaged or corroded, and replace cracked or torn rubber dust boots. Coat the pins with high-temperature grease and install them in the caliper adapter. Depress the piston fully into the caliper before installing the new brake pads to ease pad installation. Install both new front pads, the caliper, and caliper bolts, then tighten to torque specifications.

After replacing the brake pads, ensure proper tightening of the caliper mounting bolts and wheel lug nuts. Depress the brake pedal firmly a few times to bring the pads into contact with the disc. Finally, check for fluid leakage and ensure normal brake operation before driving in traffic.
