    Insert a screwdriver or prybar between the transmission and crossmember for 2WD models, or transfer case and crossmember for 4WD models. Pry up slightly to check for looseness. To replace the mount, remove the nuts from the insulator and the bolts from the transmission. Lift the transmission or transfer case with a jack and remove the insulator, noting the holes for alignment. Installation is the reverse of removal. Ensure nuts/bolts are tightened securely.

The transmission/transfer case should not move away from the insulator much at all; if it does, replacement is necessary. To replace the mount, remove the nuts attaching it to the crossmember and the bolts connecting it to the transmission/transfer case. Raise the transmission/transfer case slightly with a jack and remove the mount, taking note of which holes are used in the crossmember for proper alignment during installation. Installation follows the reverse order of removal, ensuring that the nuts and bolts are tightened securely.
