The camshaft reference sensor on the 3.3L and 3.8L engines requires a special factory tool (DRB-I) for diagnosis. To replace it, first, unplug the sensor lead at the electrical connector and loosen the retaining bolt. Remove the sensor from the cylinder head. If reinstalling the same sensor, remove the old spacer, clean the sensor face, and install a new spacer and inspect the O-ring. For a new sensor, ensure a new paper spacer is already installed, and the O-ring is properly positioned. Apply oil to the O-ring before installation, push the sensor down to contact the cam timing gear, and tighten the retaining bolt. For the charge temperature sensor, unplug the electrical connector, unscrew the sensor, coat the threads of the new sensor with tape, and install it securely. For the coolant temperature sensor, open the radiator cap, squeeze the upper radiator hose, reinstall the cap, unplug the electrical connector, unscrew the sensor, coat the threads of the new sensor, install it securely, and check the coolant level. For the crankshaft reference sensor, unplug the electrical connector, loosen the retaining bolt, remove the sensor, and if reinstalling, remove the old spacer and install a new one. Finally, for the throttle body temperature sensor, remove the air cleaner, disconnect throttle cables, remove the accelerator cable bracket, unplug the electrical connector from the sensor, remove the sensor, apply heat transfer compound, install the sensor securely, and reverse the steps for reinstallation. For the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), disconnect the electrical connector, use a digital ohmmeter to check the resistance readings while moving the throttle lever, and replace the TPS if readings are incorrect. Then, follow the steps for replacement, including removal of the air cleaner assembly for the 2.5L engine, unplugging the electrical connector, removing the screws retaining the TPS, and reinstalling it securely.
