    Q:
How to Effectively Remove and Install Car Speakers on Dodge Nitro? Posted by Customer
    A:
On AM/FM Stereo with a 6-disc CD/DVD changer (sales code "REQ"), the radio must be put into "Transportation Mode" before removal by turning the ignition switch to the "RUN" or "ACCESSORY" position and pressing the SET and DISK buttons simultaneously until "TRANSPORTATION" appears on the display; if the display is inoperable, hold the buttons for 5 seconds before disconnecting the battery. To remove the radio, first disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, then remove the dashboard center trim panel, unscrew and pull the radio from the dash, disconnect the electrical wiring, and detach the antenna conductor by pulling out on the lock sleeve without pulling on the cable itself to avoid damage. For the speakers in the front and rear doors, remove the front door trim panel, unscrew the speaker mounting screws, and take out the speaker, with installation being the reverse of removal. Additionally, the top cover of the instrument panel and the speakers can be removed and installed as needed.
