To check the transmission mount, raise the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Insert a large screwdriver or prybar into the space between the transmission extension housing and the crossmember, attempting to pry the transmission up slightly. The transmission should not move much, and the rubber in the center of the mount should fully insulate it from the mount bracket. For replacement, remove the bolts or nuts attaching the mount to the crossmember and the bolts attaching it to the transmission. Raise the transmission slightly with a jack and remove the mount. Installation follows the reverse of the removal procedure, ensuring all fasteners are tightened securely.
