Mopar 56007298 Switch-Intermittent WIPER

On 1997 and later models, the windshield wiper/washer switch is incorporated into the multi-function switch, which is located on the left side of the steering column and controls the wiper/washer, turn signal, and dimmer switches, featuring two-speed wipers with an optional intermittent function. To check the switch, disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, unplug the electrical connector from the switch, and use an ohmmeter or self-powered test light to check for continuity between the switch terminals at the electrical connector in the indicated positions; replace the wiper/washer switch if the continuity is not as specified. For replacement, unplug the electrical connector and tape it flat against the harness, then remove the turn signal switch without pulling the connector out of the column, just enough for access to the housing screws. Next, remove the ignition lock cylinder, bend a straightened paper clip into a hook to lift the key warning buzzer switch out, and then remove the four screws or bolts to lift the housing and shroud assembly off the column. After that, remove the wiper/washer switch actuating lever, the switch cover, and the pivot screw to detach the wiper/washer switch, then install the new switch and cover. Ensure the dimmer switch rod is connected, position the housing and shroud assembly on the steering column with the lock pin forward of the slot in the lock rack, and install the screws to carefully mate the assembly. Finally, install the key and lock cylinder assembly, ensuring the lock pin extends fully when the key is in the lock position, and complete the installation in reverse order of removal.
