To remove the battery, start by removing the battery hold-down clamp. Unscrew the hold-down bolt and remove the clamp. Carefully lift out the heavy battery. Take this opportunity to inspect the carrier for any corrosion. If you are replacing the battery, ensure that you purchase one that is identical in dimensions, amperage rating, and cold cranking rating. To install the new battery, simply reverse the removal process.
