- A:Have the air conditioning system discharged by a dealer service department or an automotive air conditioning shop before proceeding. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Remove the refrigerant lines to expansion valve mounting nut. Separate the lines, then cap them and discard the O-rings. Remove the two Allen head bolts that mount the expansion valve to the evaporator tube. Remove the expansion valve and discard the O-rings. Cover or cap the openings while the expansion valve is removed. Installation is the reverse of removal. Replace all the O-rings with new ones, and tighten the expansion valve bolts securely.Posted by MoparPartsGiant Specialist
