Can the Crankshaft Seal Be Replaced Without Removing the Timing Chain Cover on a Four-Cylinder Engine on 2001 Jeep Cherokee?

To replace a front crankshaft oil seal, disconnect the battery cable and remove the vibration damper. Pry out the old seal and install a new one with its lip facing towards the inside. Employ a big socket and hammer to knock in the seal. Take off cover and use a screwdriver to take out old seal. Install the new seal after cleaning the bore; push it in using force. Put back the timing chain cover.
