How to remove and install an exhaust manifold in 3.5L V6 engine on 2010 Dodge Challenger?

Before you can remove the exhaust manifold there is need to disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the car battery. Then safely lift the front of the vehicle and keep it standing on two jack stands and then unbolt the engine splash shield. Next remove all the electrical connectors of the oxygen sensors and then take out the sensors. Remove the nuts and bolts and separatively unbolt the exhaust pipes from the exhaust manifolds and then lower the car. The bolts/nuts of the exhaust manifold heat shield must be unscrewed so that the heat shields may be discarded. Next, you have to take out the mounting bolts and then loose the manifold from the cylinder head while making sure that you had a spray on the bolts with penetrating oil earlier. Before installing, it is necessary to remove the old material on the mating surfaces and run verification of manifold distortion and crack and warpage checked up with help of precise straight edge. If needed get the manifold to a auto machine shop for the resurfacing process. Align the exhaust manifold to the engine block, place the new gasket in-between and tighten the bolts just enough by hand, so that you can distinguish gaskets by the cylinder number and the position of the exhaust port. Loosen the mounting bolts in the reverse order and then gradually increase the torque till the recommended number on the equipment came to a stop. Last is to replace the remaining components in reverse manner and the engine should be started to check for exhaust leak between the manifold and cylinder head / manifold and exhaust pipe.
