How to remove and reinstall a wheel and lower control arm on 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

To change the wheel the first step is to slacken the lug nuts and lift the vehicle and then put it on jackstands at the frame rails before taking off the wheel. Next, remove the brake disc and then remove the sensor of the wheel speed. If the vehicle is fitted with 4wd, then you will have to retract the axle shaft nut. Thus, you should turn the three hub bearing mounting bolts and expel then the hub/bearing in. Next pull off the outer tie rod end retaining nut and disconnect the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle. Unscrew the nut in the bottom of the lower ball joint stud but do not lose it then remove the ball joint from the steering knuckle by using the ball joint remover tool, recalling the nut has to be kept in place so that it does not come off with a lot of force. Do this for the upper balljoint stud and then take out the knuckle. From the LCA, first of all, remove the shock clevis bracket and stabilizer link After that, all the nuts and bolts which are used in the connection of LCA are to be removed to take the lower control arm out of the vehicle. For removal the corresponding procedures should be followed however, while reinstalling it is important that all screws are tightened to the rated torque values except for the nuts on the pivot bolt, these should be left loose till the vehicle is on standard height from the ground. Attempting to work on the nuts of the CV joint, keep the wheel off the ground by first of all, bringing the outside of the lower control arm with a floor jack just as you would when the car is normally raised. Last, fit back the wheel, and the lug nuts, lift the car and fasten the lug nuts to the recommended torque. Get the front end alignment checked and or repaired as and when it is necessary.
