Before taking out the airbag module, first pull the negative battery cable off the ground stud on the left shock tower. Next step involves pulling the side-walls to the front part of the Vise up and then swinging the door of the glove box all the way down. Then, you have to take off four nuts that fix a airbag to the top of the instrument panel and two screws that fix it in the support structure. Lift the airbag module up disconnect the module electrical connector and remove also the airbag module. For installation, reverse the removal procedures paying an extra attention to the electrical connector that must be connected firmly and the screws and nuts tightened. Following installation, insert the key into the ignition switch, turn the switch to the Off position, back to the On position to illuminate the instrument cluster AIRBAG lamp which should be on for approximately six to eight seconds before going off as this serves as confirmation of proper airbag system function. If the lamp does not come on or is blinking, or remains lit, it implies a problem with the airbag system and requires a dealer service department or an appropriately skilled repair center for the car to be diagnosed.
