These models feature a multi-function lever on the left side of the steering column that manages the wiper/washer, turn signal, and dimmer switches. The wipers operate at two speeds with an intermittent function, controlled by a module located under the instrument panel or in the body computer. To begin, disconnect the negative cable from the battery, remove the steering column lower cover, and unplug the electrical connector. Check for continuity between the switch terminals at the electrical connector using an ohmmeter or self-powered test light, ensuring it meets the specified continuity for the four switch positions; replace the wiper/washer switch if continuity is not as specified. For replacement, follow the initial procedures to remove the steering wheel, detach the wiring harness trough, and unplug the electrical connector. Remove the lock housing cover screws and take off the cover, then pull out the switch hider for access. Detach the switch from the stalk by removing two screws and take off the wiper knob from the end of the stalk. Rotate the control stalk fully clockwise, align the slot and pin, and pull the stalk out. Installation follows the reverse order of removal.
