This is managed by the Occupant Restraint Controller or SRS, installed centrally in the car and is supported by different types of air bags such as the driver's air bag in the steering column, a knee blocker air bag for the models after 2005, the passenger air bag embedded in the instrument panel and the optional side air bags for the rear seat passengers. It is front impact sensors activated system and encompasses such parts as the clockspring and the AIRBAG readiness light. Also, seat belt pre tensioner is installed on each front seat belt retractor to boost safety features.
