To replace the front door latch, shut the window fully and then, pop off the front door trim panel, lift up the plastic water shield to get to the inner door hardware. If reinforced with power door locks, the wire connector has to be disconnected from the power door lock motor. Remove the clips which fasten the linkage to the door latch and then the linkages then the screws mounting the door latch to the door end frame then take out the latch. Removal is the exact opposite of installation though one is advised to use new screws if the latch has been removed. When completed with the installation of the door latch by using new screws, slide in the linkage into the latch and engage the clips and if their is electrical connector reconnect it. For the outside handle, the initial steps as with the inside handle to reach the inside of the door release mechanism, and disconnect switch connector in case your car came with Vehicle Theft Security System, and release the push in fasteners. Take out the handle to the outer panel by taking out the latch and lock linkages from the handle. In the outside handle for the lock cylinder you will need to pop of a clip then pull it out then you will need to install the new lock cylinder retaining clip and position the link arm before pushing the lock cylinder back in. For the sliding door latch/lock control, it is necessary to remove the trim panel of the sliding door, disconnect the external cable given in the figure, and also remove the foam insulation block given in the figure. Remove the inside latch handle and free the clip where the inside door handle bell crank link was previously fixed, also use bolts to take off the latch/lock control from the sliding door. For the outside handle of the sliding door, the procedure is almost similar to the internal handle to gain access to the handle. For the liftgate latch, the trim panel and watershield must be pulled off, the connection of the outside lock cylinder link and wire connector have to be disconnected and the screws of the latch have to be loosened. The outside handle for the liftgate includes; removal of the trim panel, followed by the electrical connectors and finally the removal of mounting screws. Last but not least, to take out the liftgate lock cylinder, press the clip to release latch link, if there was an electrical connector, then disconnect it, then turn counterclockwise the plastic nut on the lock cylinder and remove it. To uninstall all the components the process is the exact opposite of installation.
