Q: How to Remove and Install an Air Conditioning and Heater Control Assembly?
A: Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Caution: On 2015 and later models, if equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the /BS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable. Detach the instrument panel center bezel. Disconnect the electrical connectors for the assembly. Remove the mounting screws and detach the A/C switch from the bezel. Note: The A/C switch may need calibration if replaced with a new one. This must be performed at a dealer service department or a qualified repair shop with the appropriate scan tool. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. On manual transmission models, release the shifter boot clips using a trim tool, then remove the shifter mounting bolts and shifter. On automatic transmission models, use a trim tool to carefully pry along the edges of the shift bezel until all the retaining clips are released, then lift the bezel up from the floor console. Remove the shifter knob retaining screw and remove the shift knob and bezel. Using a plastic trim tool, pry along the edges of the shift console center trim panel until all the clips are released, then lift the trim panel up and disconnect the electrical connector from the shift panel. Remove the mounting screws and detach the A/C switch from the shift panel. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
