For 3.7L V6 and 4.&L V8 models, disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal and raise the front end of the vehicle. Disconnect the electrical connector from the CMP sensor and remove the sensor mounting bolt. Inspect the CMP sensor 0-ring for cracks, tears, and other deterioration. Make sure the CMP sensor is fully seated against its mounting surface. Installation is the reverse of removal and tightening the CMP sensor mounting bolt to the torque. For Hemi engines, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the sensor mounting bolt. Remove the old CMP sensor 0-ring, inspect it for cracks, tears, and deterioration, and apply a small dab of clean engine oil to the sensor 0-ring.
