To replace the air intake duct, start by loosening the hose clamps and removing the duct. Inspect it for any cracks, tears, or damage, and replace it if necessary. A damaged duct can cause a lean air/fuel mixture, resulting in rough running or misfires. Reinstallation is the reverse of removal. For the air filter box, disconnect the duct and the PCV fresh air inlet hose. Remove the housing mounting bolts and lift it straight up to remove it. Check the condition of the mounting grommet and replace if damaged. Reinstallation is the reverse of removal. To remove the air resonator box, disconnect or remove the duct and the IAT sensor connector (on Hemi engines). Remove the mounting bolts and pull the box forward to disengage it from the throttle body. Lift it slightly and disconnect the PCV fresh air inlet hose. Reinstallation is the reverse of removal.
